Lelo has several prostate massagers, but there is nothing like the Lelo Hugo. So I thought I should share my review of how this sex toy performs.
I have tried prostate massagers from Lelo for years, and they never fail to amaze me. With a luxurious feel and look, the Lelo sex toys are powerful and comfortable to use.
I recently reviewed the Lelo Loki Wave, which is a little different with its Come Hither motion but let’s step back and stick with vibrations on Hugo.

As for my first impression, the Lelo Hugo looks like a rabbit sex toy that has been reduced in size so I did not expect too much power from it – man, was I wrong.
It has a really powerful vibration and plenty of patterns to choose from. Plus, you get a remote control making the toy completely hands-free.
Lelo Hugo is not a perfect sex toy, so I will take you through the good and the bad to see if Lelo Hugo is for you.

How Does Lelo Hugo Work?
The Lelo Hugo has two arms that work to stimulate two areas in the body. The larger arm is insertable and it is meant to stimulate the prostate.
The other arm/smaller arm is for stimulating the perineum which means that it sits outside the body right on the bottom of the balls.
The smaller arm does not move but it is flexible.
Since each harm has its own motor, they produce intense vibrations that stimulate both the perineum and the prostate at the same time.
These arms cannot be controlled individually, so once you set the vibration level on the toy, both arms will have the same vibration pattern and intensity.
The 6 Patterns
Aside from the intensity of the vibrations, you can also select the pattern that fits your needs. The Lelo Hugo has 6 different settings or patterns to choose from.
- A constant buzzing of the Lelo Hugo gives a more consistent feeling and is perfect if you are still warming up.
- An alternating buzz and pause. On average, the buzz and pauses last for a second. I like this setting when I am trying to get into the right pattern.
- Two buzzes and then a pause. Now this pattern gets you warmed up and ready for more intense or unique patterns.
- The fourth pattern is where the vibrations gradually go from the weakest to the maximum intensity. This is a repeating pattern for when you are deep into the stimulation.
- This pattern is where the vibrations go from the weakest setting to the maximum intensity and then gradually go back down.
- The last pattern is where the sex toy gets more control. It selects random patterns and intensity without any pauses. Perfect for when you are nearing the climax.
So how do I select the patterns?
You can scroll through the patterns by clicking the center button on the wireless remote controller.
A button on the Lelo Hugo itself allows you to select the pattern you like, but you have to reach down and find it.
I prefer using the wireless remote controller since it is easier.
The Dual Stimulation
As I have mentioned, the Lelo Hugo looks like a compact rabbit vibrator which means it has two arms. One that goes inside the prostate and one that sits right under the balls.
This allows Hugo to stimulate two areas at the same time. The outer arm or perineal arm does not lack the power either as it has its own motor which is separate from the main arm’s motor.
The dual stimulation of the Lelo Hugo is pleasant even at higher levels of vibration. However, you cannot control them separately.
If you use the remote control to increase the intensity to a maximum, both arms will go to the maximum vibration level.
What’s the advantage of dual stimulation?
I noticed that the outer arm provides added pressure, so the prostate arm goes deeper, where I can feel the full vibrations inside.
Even without holding the Lelo Hugo while in use, the vibrations were deep and powerful enough that I barely needed to adjust the position of the sex toy.
Experience With Lelo Hugo
When using any prostate massager, I always lube it up generously, so it is comfortable when inserting the sex toy.
I inserted it, and the Lelo Hugo sat comfortably on my prostate because of the curved shape. The perineal arm also sits perfectly against and on the balls.
While using the toy I noticed that it was hands-free since it was remote operated; this matters more than you think with prostate massagers.
Is the sensation any good?
I have to tell you, the Lelo Hugo feels amazing. Both arms worked perfectly for me, and controlling the patterns and intensity was a blast.
With the help of the wireless remote controller, I could select the right intensity and pattern of vibration for warming up, getting into the stimulation, and the climax.
The vibrations were powerful, but I was glad there were no huge leaps in power. Starting with the lowest intensity made it great for warming up.
I then gradually increased the power of the vibrations. Even the leap between 10% power and 30% power was not that huge for me.
The maximum power, however, is intense. I think you should use the max power for when you are finishing, as it can be unpleasant initially.
Are the vibrations rumbly or buzzy?
Now this is where your preference comes in. I prefer sex toys that are rumbly instead of powerful and numbing buzz.
The Lelo Hugo is the best of both worlds. The lower intensities of vibrations provided just enough rumbly sensation to make the experience last.
At 70% to 100% power, the vibrations start to become buzzy, which makes it perfect for reaching the climax.
So you should try the Lelo Hugo from the lowest vibration intensity first before getting to the maximum power.
Is it easy to control?
Since you do not have to reach out underneath and press buttons on the sex toy, the Lelo Hugo was really easy to use, especially with the help of the wireless remote controller.
My first impression of the Lelo Hugo in use was that it was hands-free, thanks to the intuitive remote.
Lelo Hugo remote has SenseMotion, where you either tilt or shake the remote control to adjust the intensity of the vibrations.

You can select patterns using the button at the bottom of the sex toy, although I feel this is not convenient.
Size Of The Lelo Hugo – Whom Is It Made For?
When testing the size of sex toys, I often find myself having a solid assessment that the sex toy is either for beginners or experienced users.
The Lelo Hugo, however, is the best of both worlds regarding the size. It is compact and small enough for beginners.
The insertable length of the Lelo Hugo is only 3.4 inches which means that with the addition of the curve of the main arm, the sex toy sits right against the P-spot.
At its widest, the Lelo Hugo is only 1.28 inches. So even for beginners, the Lelo Hugo is easy to insert with enough water-based lube.
So, a first-timer or a beginner can comfortably insert the Lelo Hugo.
What about experienced users?
What makes it perfect for experienced users of prostate massagers is the power. Despite being relatively small, the Lelo Hugo provides intense vibrations.
Beginners can settle for 50% power, but for more experienced users, you will find the higher intensities perfect for stimulating the prostate.
A Vibrating Remote?
Once you turn the Lelo Hugo on, the remote should vibrate with the sex toy.
The remote control vibrates to give you feedback. It synchronizes with the sex toy so you know the intensity and pattern of vibrations.
If your partner is holding the remote control, they will know whether to increase or decrease the intensity of the vibrations and select the pattern for you.
The center button lets you scroll through the patterns while the “+” button increases the intensity of the vibrations and the “-” button lowers the vibration intensity.
Aside from the 6 patterns you can select using the center button, you can also choose between the 2 SenseMotion modes of the sex toy using the same button.
SenseMotion Modes
There are two SenseMotion modes that you can use with the Lelo Hugo’s remote control. Instead of fumbling to press buttons, you can use motion to control the sex toy.
Mode 1: Tilting The Remote Control
The first mode is where you can tilt the wireless remote control to select the vibration intensity you want.
If the remote control is positioned vertically, the Lelo Hugo will be at 100% vibration intensity. When the remote control is horizontal, it will go to the lowest vibration level.
Mode 2: Shaking The Remote Control
The second SenseMotion mode lets you control the intensity of the vibrations by shaking the remote control itself.
This is simple. The harder you shake the remote control, the stronger the vibrations will be.
I prefer the first mode, where I tilt the remote control to increase or decrease the vibrations but give it a try, you might prefer the shaking motion.
Is the remote control responsive?
Yes, the remote control was responsive, the ever slightest tilts were read by the remote, and the Lelo Hugo responded quickly to the change in intensity.
Edging myself became easier with the tilting mode but for more action, shaking the remote control was also fun and unique to use.
The remote control allowed my partner to control the sex toy, which was fun during the couple’s sessions.
Since the remote control vibrates with the sex toy, it also gives you an idea of how strong the vibrations are or at what pattern it is.
Cleaning The Lelo Hugo
The Lelo Hugo is really easy to clean after using it. Mainly because it is 100% waterproof and compact, there is no large surface to clean.
After using the Lelo Hugo, you can run it under warm water or clean it on a basin with warm water and mild soap.
You can also use a sex toy cleaner if you have one. Note that there is a plastic part at the bottom of the Lelo Hugo, which has grooves.
So please pay attention to that area and remove any gunk gathered in it. I use a wooden toothpick to remove dust or gunk in those grooves.
Rinse the sex toy thoroughly and then let it dry. After it dries, you can put it in the satin bag with the Lelo Hugo, along with the cord and remote, and then store it in a drawer.
Battery Life on the Lelo Hugo
The Lelo Hugo lasts for 2 hours when fully charged. It also takes up to 2 hours to fully charge it, so it does not take long.
When used at full power, the Lelo Hugo did not last for 2 hours, but it was still enough for prostate orgasm, as 30 minutes to an hour is enough for me.
The charging port is found at the bottom of the sex toy and is covered by a silicone cap that is attached to the sex toy.
Just open that, and you will find the charging port. When charging, there is a flashing light under the Lelo Hugo, which turns to a solid light, indicating that it is fully charged.
What about the remote control?
The wireless remote control uses 2 AAA batteries which you can change when they are drained. The Lelo Hugo comes with a plastic “key”.
Use that key to open the remote control, and you will find the batteries inside.
I usually misplace the plastic key, but I found that using a coin to open the remote control is also possible.
Is Lelo Hugo Waterproof?
Yes, the Lelo Hugo prostate massager is 100% waterproof and perfect for use in the shower.
I have yet to try the Lelo Hugo in the bath, but since it is 100% up to 1 meter, I am sure you can also use it in the bathtub.
This also makes it easier to clean. Even the charging port has a silicone cover, so running it under warm water in the sink or submerging it in a basin will be safe.
Does Lelo Hugo Make A Lot Of Noise?
The Lelo Hugo is a discreet sex toy. I think the silicone build helps in reducing the noise even at full power or maximum intensity.
The weaker vibrations, which were rumbly, obviously did not make much noise, so I was comfortable using it in private.
I also tested the sex toy with my partner in the other room. At 75% power, the vibrations started to buzz, but my partner did not hear any noise from the Lelo Hugo.
When set to maximum intensity, the Lelo Hugo did produce a louder noise but not enough to be heard from the other room, especially when the door was closed.
So even with people in the other room, the Lelo Hugo is discreet enough that no one would suspect what you are doing.
Is Lelo Hugo App Controlled like other toys from Lelo?
The Lelo Hugo is incompatible with the Lelo app like the Loki Wave. The button can only control it at the bottom of the toy or through the wireless remote controller.
Other sex toys from Lelo that can be used with the Lelo app can create more unique patterns through the app on your phone.
Is Lelo Hugo Worth It?
The Lelo Hugo sex toy is one of the more expensive sex toys on the market. However, I still think that it is worth the money.
It is a smaller type of sex toy, making it easy to insert even for beginners and powerful enough for experienced users.
